DIY:: SHELLAC!

I love a good manicure but I hate paying money for one! In attempt to be more frugal, I decided manicures from a salon were a "no-go." But then I ran across this on Pintrest.

I thought to myself, I could totally do this! I did some research on the "shellac hack" and it got pretty good reviews. Most people said it lasted well over 7 days and I got excited. Then, I came across another pin claiming to have "perfected" it. This girl added Gelous, second bottle green top.

What & Where I bought it:
Sally Henson Hard As Wraps -- Walgreens
Gelous -- Sally's Beauty Supply
OPI's Skull and Glossbones -- Already had
Top Coat -- Sally's Beauty Supply

How to "hack" the shellac:

1 coat hard as wraps
1 coat gelous
1 coat polish
1 coat gelous
1 coat polish
1 coat top coat

*Let each coat dry before starting another.

I absolutely loved the results!! Overall this only cost about 15 dollars. Half of what a normal shellac manicure would cost me. But, the best part is for 15 bucks and I can get many more manicures out of those bottles! My shellac lasted about 6 days then I had a really rough day at work and I got a tiny chip. It was barely noticeable but to me it was HUGE. It drove me crazy so the next day I just took all the color off.

I decided to paint my nails CAJUN SHRIMP by OPI. I LOVE this color! It's not too red for me! This is one of the best "pintrest projects" I've done!

2014 Goals

It's February. That means I survived January! In the post I decided to talk about some of my 2014 goals. I am not really a type planner type of girl, even though I need to be. So here are some things I want to see myself do before this year is up.

  1. Run another 5k..(and be a little more prepared)
  2. Blog at least once a month
  3. Print and mail wedding pictures to my family
  4. Pay off my credit card (and keep it that way)
  5. Sell more Scentsy
  6. Take more pictures with my camera, not my phone.
  7. Run a 10k or Half Marathon
  8. Take the pups on more walks
  9. Make the bed everyday
  10. Take more day trips (Starkville is calling my name!)
  11. Catch a college or MLB baseball game
  12. Have more pictures in my blog post

I normally don’t make resolutions only because I never see the point. Hence why I am making yearly goals. A lot of people make resolutions  that are ridiculously hard to keep and when they fail, it’s like the whole mission is failed. I don’t like doing that. This year I decided I wanted to live better and really appreciate the things I already have. Basically, to live simple.

A personal goal I set for myself is to become the Goodwill shopper I used to be. I have found many great things at different Goodwill’s around the area. To reduce spending, the first place I will go when I think I need a new outfit, will be the Goodwill. Cringe if you must but there is nothing wrong with clothes from Goodwill. I can not wait to show ya’ll most recent GW finds.

"Ringing" in the New Year!

Watch out y'all. I'm actually posting a blog with pictures.

I've always wondered why people were facinated with New Year's Eve. People stress to the max to find the perfect outfit and make sure they go the best party to celebrate the last night of the year. But WHY? I have never really understood it. But,  I do admit, I've been caught up in the hoorah of the "holiday" in the past. That being said, A and I rang in NYE with some great friends at the Auto Zone Liberty Bowl in Memphis. My Mississippi State Bulldogs were taking on the Rice Owls. We had a great time and the Bulldogs won!!

Storming the field after the last few seconds of the game!

The Group!!

44-7 HAIL STATE!

The weather felt good until the sun went down and then it got a little chilly!

Our end zone.

Ran into my girl Toro.

My Marie. I love her!

A is an Auburn fan, but he came to support the bulldogs anyway!!

A quick catch up post!

I have been absent from this blog for awhile now. Some days I just don't have the energy to do anything. I come home and do some wifely duties, eat dinner, shower and sleep. I have four unfinished blog post that, lets be honest, I probably will not finish. I log on to my blogger read a few  blogs and then think, I really need to blog. So, I start to write, and well, I stop. I can't go back, I feel like my heart isn't in that post anymore.

Twenty-thirteen, hands down, best year of my life. Number one the list, A & I got married!!! I couldn't have asked for a better wedding. I actually blogged some of my wedding you can check that out here.

We bought our first house! We looked at a lot of houses before we decided. I love my little house and it doesn't hurt it came with a pool! Pancho LOVED the pool. She loved standing on the first step. On really hot days she would "sun" for awhile then go cool off in the pool. Ozzie, not so much, he didn't like it. I am hoping this summer he enjoys it more!

We shared our first married Thanksgiving at my Grandmommas and a few days celebrated at A's parents house. (I forgot my camera)

Our Thanksgiving Spread

My cousins who are growing up way too fast.

I am a little sad that this year is over. It's been such a great one. I know that 2014 is going to be awesome! I can't wait to see what The Lord has in store for the Miles!
