Wedding Wednesday: Saw it, Pinned it, Did it

Hey everyone, another Wedding Wednesday is here! I cannot believe how fast 2013 if flying by. We are already over half way done with February! The days until the “big day” are dwindling down and I am getting so anxious! (88 days, but who is counting!?)

I finally put of my craft hat this weekend and got to work on some things for the wedding. I am sticking to the mason jar-rustic chic theme. We have Pinterest to thank for that. Here is my wedding board for ya'll to get a good look of my style and what I am going for.

This is from google. But you get the idea.
I got my burlap, lace and twine out and warmed up the glue gun...

Wedding Wednesday: It's the little things!

Hey ya'll! We hit the 100 day mark last week. I immediately got over whelmed and almost had a mini anxiety attack. I still have so much to do and under a 100 days to do it! It’s time to get busy! Speaking of busy, are any  of ya’ll special education teachers? If so, ya’ll can feel my pain. I am smack in the middle of alternate assessment, it’s almost IEP season and just the ins and outs of the classroom. Of course, let’s just throw one of the most important days of someone life right in the mix!

I have never been OCD, over organized, or anything closely related to a type A personally. Thankfully, I have friends and family that are. Even in college I would have two weeks to write a paper and I almost always wrote the darn thing 2 days before it was due. What can I say, I work better under pressure. But I do not want to be that with my wedding. Hitting that 100 mark got a strong grip on my attention.

This weekend my fabulous Aunt Traci and I went on the hunt for bridesmaid jewelry. If anyone can find jewelry, it’s my Aunt Traci. We had the perfect hunting ground, the Helen Brett show. The HB is a fabulous jewelry (and much more) show. We found the perfect stuff. I really really want to  post pictures but I want it to be a surprise for my girls!

Aside from the jewelry, we have FINALLY finished our registry. We registered at Bed, Bath, & BeyondTarget, and last but not least Dillards. I always said when I registered for my wedding I would do it all at one place. But when that day finally came, I knew that wasn't the smart thing to do. Some people may not have a Target or a BBB so registered at both. I knew I wanted Fiestaware and was pretty disappointed when neither of my stores carried it. Adrian and I both found some plates at Target we liked and went on our merry way. A few months after, I was in Target, roaming the isles, and I noticed our dishes were on clearance! Two things instantly ran through my mind: I LOVE CLEARANCE! And what if it's not available when it's time to buy it? It was January and if you are teacher you know that January is not the month of buying anything extra. I sat on the problem for a few days and decided to take the Target plates off the registry and head to the closest Fiesta dealer in town, Dillard's.

I did some prepping before going to Dillard's becuase I was going on this journey without A. Soon as I walked in there was beautiful fine china everywhere. I came to my senses and got down to business with our dinnerware.
I registered for shamrock & peacock colors. I love green. A loves blue. It's a win-win situation. I registered for other fiestaware dishes in various colors with blue & green as the main colors. I can't wait to have my own kitchen. I am hoping my true Paula Deen-Rachel Ray cooking talents come out. I sure know A is.

Obsession.

Ok, so maybe obsession is a little dramatic for a blog post about owls. I love owls, a lot. Maybe the post should read borderline? Any one who knows me knows that I love the owl. The owl has blown up the past year. It seemed every where you turned there was an owl. I saw a lot of the little bird at flea markets and in clothing stores. It wasn't until I moved out of my grandmothers house that I took decorating seriously.

In college it was easy. Anything in a bright blue, pink, green, or yellow would pretty much match anything in my apartment. From bedroom to bathroom everything thing I had was BRIGHT! (Excuse me while I throw up in my mouth!) I did go through brief pastel phase but I completely blame that on Target. Even my kitchen was a rainbow. Espcially those cups that Wal Mart sold. I mean how can you beat a 4 pack of plastic cups for 88 cents. Ah, the college life.

Now, that I'm on the verge of being married and starting my life with A, I can't help but to look at things differently. I am into earthly and neutral tones. They are so "clean" to me. And I love clean look. My mom used to tell me all the time that I am the "old soul" in the family. I can see why now. Here are a few of my favorite owl pieces!

This came from a store in town. It's from one my BFF's Emily. I LOVE IT!
I love the "earthy" in this piece. I hope whoever makes this pottery has more!

Owl Warmer.
Can you guess where this tart warmer came from? WAL MART!! I love a good deal!

Another gift from my girl Em, she knows me!

This was one my first owls. I got it from Kirklands like 3 years ago for maybe 6 bucks.

I love how my collection is from all over the place and nothing really coordinates. Thats what makes it collection. I can not wait to have our own and I can truly make it a home.

MIA

Hello blog readers, all 9 of you. I feel like I have been MIA over the past few weeks. I tried to hold myself more accountable to blogging and tried the whole "Wedding Wednesday" segment. But some times life has other plans. January is proving to be another busy month for me. Some nights I would get home and fall into my bed. I've been extremely tired these past few weeks.

Soccer season is officially over. We lost in the first round of state play offs. I hated to see this season end, we had such a great year. I also hated to see it end because that meant our seniors would be leaving us. We had such an awesome group of seniors this year and I know they will do great things in this big world. Three of the girls signed with 2 different junior colleges. I don't know who more excited me or them. Maybe it's because I've been where they are right now and looking back on everything, it was one the most exciting times of my life.

Now that soccer is over and my body is defrosting, I can finally have some free time. Oh, wait, now I am in super plan mode for our big day. We are almost to the 100 day mark!! EEEKKKK...yes, I squealed like a little girl. We had our first round of premarital counseling and it went great. I am so excited to start this journey with my guy and his love for the Lord and his love for me.

Here are a few pictures to catch everyone up.

Stopping and smelling the flowers.

Wedding Wednesday: More like wedding woes

Hi all!! Well, twenty-thirteen is rolling on through and not slowing down a bit. I guess I need to clear up the title of this post huh? I wish I could I could go in to detail about my awesome wedding dress but ya'll will get to see it soon enough.

My dress have a love-hate relationship. I love my dress. My dress hates me. First it hated my top half because it didn't fill it out enough. We went through alterations and I thought everything would be ok. I was so excited when the dress came back..but it I lost a little weight and the dress practically fell off of me. Grrrr.

My dear friend, Emily, made the suggestion that I should wait to get it altered again. Just in case, my weight comes back, we wouldn't have to get it altered AGAIN. About a month ago, Emily and I were at Dirt Cheap and I saw a bra/corset thingy that was only five bucks! I had to be careful when buying an undergarment because of the way my dress cuts. (I seriously wish I could show ya'll pictures.) But it was only five dollars, nothing would be hurt if it didn't fit. Soon as we left, I wanted to try my dress on with it. We went to Emily's house and I put it out and it was like fire works! My dress fit like a glove. I kinda got teary eyed knowing this is really the dress! I was secretly screaming on the inside, "IT FITS, IT FITS!!

On Monday, January 7th, I went over to catch some of the National Championship at Emily's. My opinions on football will have to wait for another post. I decided to try my dress on again....bad idea. This is where the hate part comes in. IT DID NOT FIT. I mean really?? And this time it didn't fit it my thighs, I mean really? That's all I kept saying. I made the decision, with help of course that I was going to wait until mid February and if it didn't fit then, I was taking it to get in altered, yet again.

That is my wedding woe as of right now and I really hope it's the only one. On a much bright note we are 130 day mark until I am a MRS.!!!!

Merry Christmas Ya'll!!

Ok, so I mean to post this Christmas Day but I just never sat down to put it together. This Christmas was such a wonderful one. It is hard to think this time next year Adrian and I will be having our first MARRIED Christmas together.

On December 23rd, we loaded up and went to Adrian's parents house to have the Christmas there. We had a non traditional meal of chili for dinner and it was awesome. It was the perfect day for chili. After dinner we opened our presents and just enjoyed the company. I kept thinking next year, I'll be a Miles!

She's ready to ride!

Did someone say presents?

Family photo

On Christmas Eve, we had my family's Christmas. It is never a dull moment at my house. The best part was my momma got to come up for the night and spend it with us. Like I said, it is never a dull moment.

I can't believe how much she has grown up.

Merry Christmas from us!

Silly grand kid picture. Grandmomma will love this one.

Christmas Eve. There are not enough words to describe how much I love this man. I'll save the mushy stuff for another blog.
