SPRING BREAK!! WOOO-HOOO!! Who doesn't love a good paid week off work? I know many adults do not get a spring break anymore but I do and it makes me want to do a happy dance!! This year "A" and I made the trip to Pensacola Beach,FL. The weather was absolutely perfect! We actually stayed in Milton, with some dear family friends of mine. They were great host, like always. We went to the beach and got BURNT. Of course leave it to me to just rub sunblock on myself in random places..needless to say you will get a good laugh if you saw my knees and arms. Poor A., he got the sunburn award of the trip. In his defense, he did put some sunblock on, just not enough. After our day in the sun we went to eat at Peg Leg Pete's, it was pretty much on the beach. There A. tried raw oysters (excuse me while I gag) for the very first time. He loved them. I think they taste like big slimy booger, ok well I've never tasted a booger but thats what it LOOKS like it would taste like. We finally make it home and we are worn slap out, it seems like sun just drains you! The next day venture off by ourselves. That sweet date included exploring the shops, trying an electric lemonade (yummy!), and walking on the board walk in the bay. We left the beach and headed for dinner. We ate at one my favorite places there, McGuires Irish Pub. This is such a neat place to eat! Who doesn't love an Irish pub with over a million dollars stapled to the ceiling, a burger that cost a 100 bucks and drink dubbed "The Irish Wake"?? I stapled a buck to the ceiling and took a sip of the Irish Wake. I decided to leave the 100 dollar burger to someone with deeper pockets. I did try a "pizza burger", EXCELLENT! We called it an early night and headed back to Milton. We left the next day to head home. We stopped in Hattiesburg at Academy Sports. It's like a Sports Authority and Sportsman's Warehouse had a baby and Academy Sports was the finished product. A. was in heaven! We also stopped at the Collins Zoo on highway 49. Nothing to stop for, the only cool animal she had was turkey and the snake room. We finally made it home and I knew that the break was coming to and end. I washed all my clothes and cleaned the house. I was getting anxious to go back work. It was weird, I was actually missing my students! When I got back to work, it was all business. It's almost IEP season, grades are due, getting kids back on track..this list could go on and on..
I still can't believe we are 3 months into 2012. Life is flying by me. There is only 9 weeks (45 days) left in the school year. That is something I can't believe! All I can say is April will be a very busy month for me. I am ready for it! Bring it on life!
1. A trying raw oysters for the 1st time. YUCK!
2. The Gulf, a little piece of heaven at my feet.
3. A and I at Jimmy Buffet's Maragritaville...I want to live there.
