Numero Uno

One week.

Numero Uno.
I have only ONE week until I officially report back to work. ONE. I can not believe my summer went by so fast. It really didn’t start slipping away until I started working my camps but still only one week, just one! Teachers report back August 1st, the day before my birthday, to get back to work and get the new school year in the swing of things. I have tried to work in my classroom a few times over the summer but nothing really ever got accomplished. I was either locked out of my hallway because of summer cleaning or just blank on what I wanted to do really do with my room. These past three days I have actually made way into “Ms. Scotti’s Class.” I am still far from what my vision is but its getting closer. I have promised myself not go back for the rest of the week until school starts. I can’t wait to show ya’ll the before and after pictures of my class!  I am off to enjoy my last week of summer vacation!

Let me introduce you to..

The LOVE of my life!
Who he is: Michael Adrian Miles, goes by Adrian.

When he entered this world: January 30th, 1987. He decided to come in the world two months early weighing 2.9 lbs. He is a miracle baby & my miracle man.

Where he calls home: His parents and brother live in Sarah,MS, Tunica will always be his home.

What he does: He is a Paramedic. It’s pretty awesome the man I love can save lives.

Why I love him: There are many reasons why I love this man, but I’ll name some of favorites. 1. He loves the Lord. 2. He makes me laugh, I love when we get in those silly funky moods and all we do is laugh. 3. He gives me this feeling of peace that no one else has ever given me.

Things he loves: anything to do with: the Auburn Tigers, St. Louis Cardinals, typical country boy stuff that may include: hunting, fishing, guns, camping, his FJ, building things, fixing things, this list could go on and on.

One of our very first pictures together. Bowling. He won, but only because I let him.

His birthday dinner at Paula Deen's

Lunch at church. I almost forgot how much hair he HAD.

My two loves, Ace & Panchie

Perfect example of our silliness. And yes, we rode down the road like this.

end of summer

It is hard to believe that July is almost over! I have only 10 days of summer vacation left, it seems like yesterday I was crying about the summer blues. I’ve kept myself busy with working at camp, which was truly a blessing. I met some great people and some awesome kids. End of summer has always been kind of bittersweet for me. Bitter because school is starting, sweet because its my birthday! I love my birthday! I will be twenty-seven years old this year. TWENTY-SEVEN. That is such a weird number to me. It’s hard to believe I am in baby steppin’ into my late twenties. It’s just weird.
Last week, The Knowledge Tree, had a teacher appreciation sale. I met up with my good friend Ashley and we were in teacher heaven. Even though I started teaching in January, I still think of myself as a first year teacher. This will also be Ashley’s first year teaching special education too! She will rock it. We were both like kids in a candy store in Knowledge Tree. We loaded up our basket, snacked on Chick-fil-a and then headed to the register to calculate the damage. Much to our surprise we didn’t spend over twenty-five buck each. We were both pretty excited. We even walked back in and got some border for bulletin boards. I know, we are both school nerds. Speaking of school I have been battling with decision to go grad school. The school I was most interested in, Delta State, moved all their special education grad courses on line. It was music to my ears. I would love to do it but it is the cost that is stopping me. I do not want to take anymore student loans out. There are a ton of loan repayment programs out there but they require you to work in a critical needs school district. Special Education is a critical needs subject so I believe it shouldn’t matter where you work. Maybe one day I will make the decision. Well, I am off to enjoy the of my summer vacation!!

236 years old & going strong

Happy 236th birthday America!

Today is one of my favorite holidays! This holiday wouldn't be possible if we didn't have the brave men & women who sacrifice their life so we can be free. Did you know that the United states has the only voluntary military other countries require at least 2 years of service. Not here, not only do these brave men & women give up their luxuries of life, they do it voluntary.

There are not enough thank you's to give to our troops who have served, will serve and who are currently service. I will always be thankful for what you endure.
